Dialogue One

Patient: I m afraid I have to make a complaint .Could you tell me when the doctor is coming?I have been waiting for 2 hours.

Nurse: I m sorry to hear that. I’m sure the doctor has been held up.I will go and check for you and let you know when he will be coming.I’m sorry you have waited so long.

Dialogue Two

Patient:Do I need to stay in hospital any longer? I m upset with staying here.I’d rather go home.

Doctor: I understand your feeling ,but it will be better if you stay for another day.

Patient: I hate to say this , but I feel I would be better off if I go home now.What do you have to do to me that I have to stay longer?

Doctor: I hear what you are saying ,but we would prefer that you stay another day so that we are absolutely sure that you are better with no fever.

Nurse:Goodmorning. This is Doctor Grant s office.This is Nurse Wang speaking. What can I do for you?

Patient:I have to work on Wednesday.By the way,is Dr.Grant available on Saturday?
