1. be able to... 能够……
2. be disabled from (doing)... 被剥夺（做）……的能力
3. enable sb to (do)... 使某人能够（做）……
4. be capable of (doing)... 有能力（做）……
ability / competence / capacity 三个单词都有“能力”的意思。
ability 既可以指天赋的能力，又可以指后天培养的能力，主要用于人。
competence 强调胜任某项工作的能力。
capacity 主要指容纳和吸收的能力，既可用于人，也可用于物，后接介词for或of。
