My most embarrassing experience
My mostembarrassing experiences that are still fresh in my mind happened when I was incollege. Before I narrate my story, there’ re two things that I need tomention. First, I’m one of the top students in my school. My photo was alwayspasted on the bulletin boards after midterm examination so many people knew me.Second, I enjoy musing. Actually, it is these two things that gave rise to mytragedy.
We usually wentto the playground to do gyms after class. There were two roads back to ourclassroom. I usually preferred the shortcut, which is a bit narrow with severalutility poles. As usual, I walked on the shortcut, musing freely. I can’tremember exactly what I was thinking about. At that very moment when an “onch”broke out in the crowd, I still had no idea what happened or even who utteredthis. Suddenly, a hail of ache sprang up and I knew who had collided with theutility pole. And tears seemed so corporate that they started to overflow. Andthere came the babbling and teasing, “Isn’t that Dong Hui from class 617? Doyou believe it? She just ran into it.” If only there were holes right under myfeet so that I could dive into it!
No, I shouldn’tcry in the public. 1 pulled myself together and I soon worked out a plan. Yes,I would pretend nothing had happened and buried my forehead in my palms, hidingmy tears from others, and dashed to the classroom. I took a relieved breathwhen finding out that none of my classmates had met me. However, when Ireturned to dorm after dinner, one of my roommates asked concernedly, “Are youOkay? My boyfriend said he happened to see you bump against a utility pole. Hethought you might be thinking some difficult math problems.” I blushed at hernarrative, “Yes, I was working with a math puzzle when returning to theclassroom. I’ m Okay.”
Isn’t thatembarrassing when you thought something had been ignored, someone just let itloose in front of 12 people that you got along with day and night? That may bethe reason why I still remember every detail of it up till now. It isembarrassing but a part and parcel of my high school life.

The Doctrine ofthe Mean is the core of Confucianism. The so-called “mean” by Confucius doesn’tmean “compromise” but a “moderate” and “just-right” way when understanding andhandling objective things. Confucius advocated that this thought should notonly be treated as a way to understand and deal with things but also beintegrated into one’s daily conduct to make it a virtue throughself-cultivation and training. The Doctrine of the Mean is not only the core ofConfucianism but also an important component of traditional Chinese culture. From the time it came into being to the present, it has played an invaluablerole in the construction of national spirit, the transmission of national wisdom, and the development of national culture.
