The study on the principles of formulating formulas is an old as well as animate topic, and has important status in modern research on the science of formulas. In this chapter, we discussed the problems relating to the principles of formulating formulas in detail, elucidated that the “chief, deputy, assistant and envoy” still holds academic and practical value at present, but he development of history requires us not to stay on the level of traditional understanding, but rather to consciously apply modern scientific knowledge and methods to promote it to a higher level in research.
