培养定位:以“国际学术前沿+国家重大需求”“科学研究+创新实践协同育人”和“高水平平台+高层次人才”为目标的新工科精英教育。

随着人工智能进入2.0时代,智能制造是“中国制造2025”的主动方向,人工智能正逐渐成为一种产业。对高校来说,人工智能、智能制造、机器人、云计算等这些专业不同于传统的工科方向,都属于原来没有的专业,是学科交叉的产物,即最近刚刚被提出来的新兴工科专业——新工科。无论是从产业变革大趋势来看,还是从中国发展新经济大需求来看,都需要大批新兴工科人才支撑,但我国却面临着人工智能人才严重不足的状况,在国际产业竞争中处于劣势。而西安电子科技大学(以下简称“西电”)于1990年成立我国第一个神经网络研究中心,2003年成立智能信息处理研究所,2004年设立智能信息处理博士点,2005年获准设立“智能科学与技术”本科专业,并建立智能信息处理创新团队,同年,智能感知与计算实验教学中心建立,2008年“智能科学与技术”专业被评为国家级特色专业。人工智能专业依托西电优势学科“电子科学与技术”“信息与通信工程”和“计算机科学与技术”,这3个学科在2017年全国第四轮一级学科评估中获历年最好成绩,“电子科学与技术”并列全国第一。信息处理技术是解决国民经济建设、国家安全与社会发展中一系列重大需求和关键问题的共性基础,西安电子科技大学始终深耕这一领域,秉承崇尚学术的宗旨,紧跟国际学术前沿,逐浪人工智能潮头;始终坚持服务于国家和国防重大需求,紧密结合实际,攻克关键技术。自我国人工智能发展之初,西电人就致力于人工智能技术的传播和发展,撰写了多本智能技术专著,此后,西电在智能领域的科研队伍一路披荆斩棘,达到了国际领先的学术水平,近5年内3次荣获国家自然科学奖二等奖,取得了骄人的成绩。西电建有智能科学与技术教学团队、智能科学与技术人才培养模式创新实验区、智能感知与计算教学示范中心。到目前为止,西电已经为我国培养了超过2000名人工智能领域人才。为人工智能的产业发展积累了一定的力量。西电人工智能学院依托智能感知和图像理解教育部重点实验室、智能信息处理研究所、航天电子信息研究所和国家“111”引智基地招收和培养本科生和硕、博研究生,在多个研究方向上国内一流和国际领先,如计算智能、遥感影像理解和智能图像重建等。西电通过与国内外一流的研究型大学、科研机构和高科技企业合作办学,提供先进的教学实验和科研平台,为学生打下深厚的理论基础,同时培养学生科技创新和自主创业能力,为我国各个行业如政府、企业和国防等领域培养大批人工智能方向的本硕博多层次人才。

With artificial intelligence entering the 2.0 era, smart manufacturing become the active direction of "Made in China 2025", and artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an industry. For colleges and universities, artificial intelligence, intelligentmanufacturing, robotics, cloud computing and other specialties are different from the traditional engineering direction. They are all products of interdisciplinary disciplines, namely, the newly proposed emerging engineering major—new engineering. Whether it is from the general trend of industrial changes or from the perspective of the great demand of China's development of new economy, a large number of emerging engineering talents are needed to support it. However, China faces a serious shortage of artificial intelligence talents and is at a disadvantage in the international industry competition. Xidian University established the first Neural Network Research Center in China in 1990, the Intelligent Information Processing Institute in 2003, the Intelligent Information Processing Doctoral Program in 2004, and the "Intelligent Science and Technology" undergraduate program and an intelligent information processing innovation team in 2005. In the same year, the Intelligent Perception and Computing Experimental Teaching Center was established. In 2008, the "Intelligent Science and Technology" program was rated as a national-level specialty. The major of artificial intelligence relies on Xidian's dominant disciplines "Electronic Science and Technology""Information and Communication Engineering" and "Computer Science and Technology". These three disciplines have won the best results in the fourth round of the national first-level discipline assessment in 2017, and "Electronic Science and Technology" ranks first in China. Information processing technology is the common foundation for solving a series of major needs and key issues in national economic construction, national security and social development. Xidian University has always been deeply engaged in this field, adhering to the tenet of advocating academics, keeping up with international academic frontiers and moving forward in the trend of artificial intelligence. We will always adhere to the major needs of the country and national defense, closely combined with reality, and conquer key technologies. Since the beginning of the development of artificial intelligence in China, Xidian University has devoted itself to the dissemination and development of artificial intelligence technology, and has written a number of specials on intelligent technology. Since then, Xidian's research team in the field of intelligence has made great efforts all the way and reached the international leading academic level. In thepast five years, it has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award three times and made remarkable achievements. It has a teaching team for intelligent science and technology, an innovative experimental area for intelligent science and technology talents training mode, and a demonstration center for intelligent perception and computing teaching. So far, Xidian University has trained more than 2, 000 talents in the field of artificial intelligence for China. It has accumulated a certain strength for the development of artificial intelligence. The Institute of Artificial Intelligence, relies on the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Perception and Image Understanding, the Institute of Intelligent Information Processing, the Institute of Aerospace Electronic Information, and the National "111" Intelligence Base, recruits and trains undergraduates, graduate and doctoral students. Leading domestic and international first-class on multiple research direction, such as computational intelligence, intelligent remote sensing image understanding and image reconstruction, etc. By cooperating with first-class research universities, scientific research institutions and high-tech enterprises at home and abroad, we provide advanced teaching experiments and scientific research platforms to lay a solid theoretical foundation for students. At the same time, it will cultivate students' ability of scientific and technological innovation and self-employment, which aims at cultivating a large number of talents in the field of artificial intelligence for various industries such as government, enterprises and national defense in China.
