4.1.1 Classification of fire hazard of the fluids delivered by long-distance oil/gas pipelines shall comply with the following requirements:
a)The fire hazard of the fluids delivered by long-distance oil/gas pipelines shall be classified as per Table 4.1.1.See Appendix A for examples of classification;
Table 4.1.1 Classification of oil and natural gas fire hazard
b)ClassⅡliquid with operating temperature exceeding its flash point shall be deemed as ClassⅠ B liquid;
c)ClassⅢliquid with operating temperature exceeding its flash point shall be deemed as ClassⅡ A liquid;
d)In crude oil storage and transportation system,the crude oil with flash point equal to or higher than 60℃and initial boiling point equal to or higher than 180℃should be classified as ClassⅢliquid.
4.2.1 When more than two classes of oil/gas products are stored and delivered at the pipeline station,the product with higher class shall be used to determine the class of the station.
4.2.2 The oil pipeline stations shall be classified based on the total storage capacities of oil product:
a)The oil pipeline station with total storage capacity greater than or equal to 100000m 3 is deemed as GradeⅠstation.
b)The oil pipeline station with total storage capacity greater than or equal to 30000m 3 and less than 100000m 3 is deemed as GradeⅡstation.
c)The oil pipeline station with total storage capacity greater than 4000m 3 and less than 30000m 3 is deemed as GradeⅢstation.
d)The oil pipeline station with total storage capacity greater than 500m 3 and less than 4000m 3 is deemed as GradeⅣstation.
e)The oil pipeline station with total storage capacity less than or equal to 500m 3 is deemed as GradeⅤstation.
Note:The total oil storage volume includes the capacity of oil tank,pressure relief tank and emergency tank,but excludes the capacity of below-ground tank,slop tank,internally-used oil tank and waste water settling tank.
4.2.3 Natural gas pipeline stations shall be classified based on the processing capacity as follows:
a)The natural gas compressor station and injection station with processing capacity higher than 500000 m 3 /d are deemed as GradeⅣstation;
b)The natural gas compressor station and injection station with processing capacity less than or equal to 50×10 4 m 3 /d are deemed as GradeⅤstation;
c)The off-take station,pig trapping station,pipeline block valve station,and metering station with any process capacities are all deemed as GradeⅤstation.
