Foreword

This code was revised by Capital Engineering and Research Incorporation Limited(hereafter called as“CERI”)jointly with the relevant units according to the“Notification on the Printing and Distribution of‘Establishment and Revision Plan for Engineering Construction Standard and Code of 2012’”of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People s Republic of China(Construction Code〔2012〕No.5)on the basis of former national standard Code for Design of Steelmaking Technology GB 50439-2008.

During the revision of this code,the revision group widely investigated,analyzed and summarized the execution condition of the original code,considering the new experience accumulated and the new achievements introduced by China in the aspects of steelmaking project construction and production in the recent years and making reference to the foreign experience on application of advanced technologies and equipment.During the revision,the revision group extensively solicited the opinions and on the basis,the draft was reviewed and finalized.

This code consists of 22 chapters,i.e.general provisions,terms,basic provisions,hot metal pretreatment,converter steelmaking,EAF steelmaking,secondary refining,slag treatment,mechanical repair and laboratory,electrical power,instrumentation,telecommunication,automation control and information-based technology,water supply and drainage,thermal power,heating,ventilation and air conditioning and dedusting,fuel and gas,building and structure,general layout and material transportation,safety and environment protection,energy conservation,and engineering pricing and project investment consulting.

The provisions with boldface in this code are mandatory provisions,which must be implemented strictly.

This code is under the management of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People s Republic of China and the mandatory provisions are under the explanation of the ministry.The detailed technological contents are under the explanation of CERI.The users of the code are kindly requested to summarize experience,collect information and send any suggestion or comment to CERI(Management Group of National Standard“Code for Design of Steelmaking Engineering”,address:No.7 Jiananjie,Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area,post code:100176),for reference in future revision.
