4 General Requirements

4.1 Design of water supply and drainage piping located in seismic zones, collapsible loess regions, permafrost regions and other regions with special geological conditions shall also conform to GB 50011,GB 50025 and GB 50233 or other codes as applicable.

4.2 The design water demand for water delivery pipeline from water source to the petrochemical plant shall be determined on a basis of the maximum daily average design water consumption per hour plus the private hourly water demand for the raw water purification plant(station).

4.3 The design water demand for the water supply pipes to water distribution system shall be determined by the maximum hourly peak design water demand for the plant per day.And if fire water is included, the design water demand shall be determined in accordance with GB 50160 and GB 50016.

4.4 The design water demand for water supply and drainage pipes in plant shall be determined in accordance with SH 3015.

4.5 Construction of water supply and drainage pipe that cuts across or crosses over national railways, highways or rivers shall be approved by related government authorities.

4.6 A position of the water supply and drainage pipes to/from process units shall be determined with consideration to the layout of plant‐wide water supply and drainage piping, and the number of such pipes shall be minimized.

4.7 Except fire water pipes, pressure(or force main)pipes to process units shall be provided with metering instruments.Pressure flow or gravity flow pipes from process units shall be provided with metering instruments and sampling devices.Plant water outlets shall be provided with metering, measuring and sampling devices.Metering and monitor shall be provided in accordance with SH 3024.

4.8 Water supply and drainage pipes shall not pass through equipment foundations, column foundations and expansion joints or settlement joints of buildings, and if unavoidable, technical measures shall be taken.

4.9 Water supply pipes with diameter less than or equal to 500mm,pipes for corrosive fluid service and pressure flow sewer in process units should be overhead routed.

4.10 Materials of water supply and drainage pipes and itsaccessories shall be determined according to water pressures, water quality, external loads, soil properties, construction requirements and material commercial availability.

4.11 Drinking water(potable water)supply pipes shall comply with the following hygienic requirements:

a)Drinking water supply pipes must not be directly connected with non‐drink(non‐drinking water/impotable water)water supply pipes.

b)Where drinkingwater supply pipe passes through underground contaminated areas, provisions shall be made to prevent drinking water from contamination.

c)Isolation provisions against contamination shall be made for the drain pipes of drinking water supply pipes and the overflow pipes of drinking water storage tanks.

4.12 Any take‐off for other services must not be taken off the high pressure(HP)fire water piping shall be take off.

4.13 Layout of the sewer containing flammable and combustible liquid shall conform to GB 50160.

4.14 Valves in buried pipes may be underground or(bury or below ground)installed. If underground arrangement is required, the valves may be arrangedin valve boxes or pitshafts.Metering instruments shall be arranged in instrument boxes.

4.15 If the water outlet of plant gravity flow water drainage pipe is subject to backwater due to flood level or tide level, tide gate and lift pump shall be provided. 0nvMsmAzytl2YgrQRNsFdoSxX9ZHoGVEEQyS1d0gTHVe3cqh2Twmk/50WeXtXUR7
