1.0.1 This code is prepared with a view to proper design steel tank foundation，the design can be accomplished with being cost effectiveness，safety and applicability，using advanced technology and protecting the environment.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the design of foundations for vertical cylindrical steel tanks(hereafter shortened as"tank foundation")at atmospheric pressure(including slightly internal pressure)that are served to store crude oil，petrochemical products and other similar liquids with gravity not larger than 10kN/m 3 .
This Code is not applicable to the design of steel tank foundation served to store cryogenic，extremely or highly toxic，acidic or caustic corrosive fluids，or the elevated tanks.
1.0.3 In addition to this Code，design of tank foundations shall also comply with the current relevant national standards.
