望海楼明照 曙 霞，护江堤白踏晴沙。
涛声夜入伍员庙，柳色春藏苏小家。
红袖织 绫 夸柿蒂，青旗 沽 酒趁梨花。
谁开湖寺西南路，草绿裙腰一道斜。
Viewed from the Seaside Tower morning clouds look bright;
Along the riverbank I tread on fine sand white.
The General's Temple hears roaring nocturnal tide;
Spring dwells in the Beauty's Bower green willow hide.
The red sleeves weave brocade broidered with flowers fine;
Blue streamers show amid pear blossoms a shop of wine.
Who opens a southwest lane to the temple scene?
It slants like a silk girdle around a skirt green.
清晨，登望海楼，沐霞光瑰丽，看江水奔流，护江堤上白沙与浪花闪烁如银。
惊心的涛声总在午夜梦回伍公庙，明媚的杨柳春色最爱藏身苏小小家。
巧手的织绫女子将绮丽春光织成了精美纹饰，风雅的酒客在梨花树下浅斟慢饮梨花春酒。
是谁修筑了通向湖寺的西南路，如草绿色的裙腰带在湖面轻轻一斜……
白居易自唐穆宗长庆二年（822年）秋至长庆四年（824年）春任杭州刺史，此诗应作于此任期内。诗中对杭州春日景色作了全面的描写，就像用五彩画笔，描摹出工丽雅致的画面，流溢着浓郁活泼的生活情趣。
