Andrew: Your new place—I'm here at last.
Zara: Yes. What do you think, do you like it?
Andrew: Well, it's larger than your last fla . I like the space.
Zara: Thank you.
Andrew: When did you move in?
Zara: Let's see, I guess it was about 2 months ago now.
Andrew: That long already? Wow, how time flies! How is the plac?
Zara: Well, it needs a bit of work.
Andrew: What kind of work?
Zara: The walls are a bit tatty , so one thing I'm going to do is put up some new wallpaper.
Andrew: What kind of colour scheme are you thinking of going with?
Zara: I quite like the colour green, so I'm thinking of doing a feature wall with that colour in the living room.
Andrew: Green is quite a calming colour. What else are you going to do?
Zara: It's quite a big open space, so I'd like to put up some shelving .
Andrew: Do you have any old ones from your last place or are you going to buy new ones?
Zara: I'm going to buy new ones.
Andrew: So what other colours are you thinking of going with besides green?
Zara: Besides green, I'd like to keep it neutral .
Andrew: Interesting. Have you ever had wallpaper before?
Zara: No, but I'm not a big fan of painting—wallpaper just seems so much easier to put up than new paint!
Andrew: Are you going to do anything with the carpet?
Zara: I'm thinking about removing the carpet and putting in laminate instead.
Andrew: Have you considered going with wooden floors instead of laminae?
Zara: I have, but wooden floors can be quite drafty in the winter.
Andrew: That's a good point.
Zara: You learn something new every day.
Andrew: Are you going to do anything else with the place?
Zara: I'd like to put up some blinds to replace these ugly curtains.
Andrew: That's a good idea. They're a bit outdated , aren't they?
Zara: Oh, just a bit! I might buy some new curtains to go with the blinds too.
Andrew: Do you think lace curtains will come back in fashion any time soon?
Zara: I certainly hope not!
Andrew: Well, you've got an awful lot of work to do. I'd better let you get on with it!

扎拉： 没有。我不是很喜欢喷漆—壁纸看起来比重新喷漆简单多了！
安德鲁： 你要把地毯处理一下吗？
扎拉： 我在考虑把地毯撤掉，改铺复合地板。
安德鲁： 你考虑过不铺复合地板，而铺木地板吗？
扎拉： 我想过，可是木地板冬天会透风。
安德鲁： 有道理。
扎拉： 每天都得学点新东西嘛。
