【Location】On the head，5 cun directly above the midpoint of the anterior hairline.
【Manipulation Method】Puncture subcutaneously 0.5-1 cun.
【Indications】Headache，dizziness，coma，manic and depressive psychosis，epilepsy，aphasia due to apoplexy，prolonged diarrhea，prolapse of the rectum，prolapse of uterus，poor memory，insomnia.

（1）Skin The skin is distributed by supratrochlear n.（n.means nerve.），greater occipital n.and auriclotemporal n..
（2）Subcutaneous tissue There are branches of above-mentioned cutaneous nerves，the anastomosis network of superficial temporal a.（a.means artery.） ＆ v.（v.means vein.）and occipital a. ＆ v..
（3）Epicranial aponeurosis The aponeurosis forwardly connects with frontal belly of occipitofrontalis，and backwardly connects with occipital belly of occipitofrontalis.Epicranial aponeurosis connects tightly with skin and superficial fascia to form “scalp”.
（4）Loose areolar tissue under epicranial aponeurosis It is the thin layer of loose connective tissue between epicranial aponeurosis and pericranium.
The deep surface of the acupoint is skull.
【Cautions】The needle is usually punctured subcutaneously into the loose areolar tissue under epicranial aponeurosis when needling the acupoints on the top of the skull.Usually don’t take lifting and thrusting，the manipulation of continuous twirling is mostly adopted.Manual twirling can also be replaced by electroacupuncture.If the needle is punctured into the scalp，or stabs into this layer，the resistance of needle tip increases，while patients feel severe pain immediately.Due to the abundance of blood vessels in the subcutaneous tissue，there shall be with a gentle manner while removing the needle and half minute’s pressing of cotton ball for avoiding bleeding.
