【Location】On the face，anterior to the intertragic notch，posterior to the condyloid process of the mandible，in the depression appearing when open mouth.
【Manipulation Method】Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun.
【Indications】Tinnitus，deafness，otopyorrhea，toothache，facial pain，deviated mouth.

【Cautions】There are the superficial temporal a.and v.in the subcutaneous region of the acupoint and the pulse of superficial temporal a.can be touched in the front position of the tragus.When there is manipulating the needle，the specified methods as follows shall be adopted for keeping away from the superficial temporal a.and needle-inserting in the vessel.Firstly，0.2 cun of the oblique insertion forward along with the tragus into the subcutaneous tissue and the position of needle point under the superficial temporal a.； then asking the patients to open mouths with 0.3-0.6 cun of perpendicular insertion later again.If the depth of needling is much deeper，the needle point can be inserted into the internal carotid a.and v..This can lead to bleeding and the consequence is more serious.When there is removing needle，there shall be with half minute’s pressing of cotton ball for avoiding bleeding.
