Invitation for Pre-departure Briefing 行前说明会邀请函

All tourists who will be joining the tour group are invited to attend the Briefing. The Briefing will be conducted by the tour leader of the travel service. This is an opportunity for tourists to ask questions and to be informed of important issues before leaving for the destination.

Suppose you are the tour leader, write out a notice for a pre-departure briefing according to the outline given below. Pay attention to the format of the invitation.

Outline:

(1) Time for the briefing: 3:00 p.m. August 3rd, 2013

(2) Place: the multi-functional meeting room of the Travel Service

(3) Content: Pre-departure briefing and the importance of the briefing

(4) Participants: tourists who have joined the trip

1. Translate the following sentences into English with the words or phrases given.

（1）领队应在行前说明会上介绍旅行细节、分发（distribute）资料。

（2）请注意：如果您不参加旅游，将承担（bear）各项实际发生的一切费用。

（3）我代表中国国际旅行社和我们的司机，向大家表示最热烈的欢迎。

（4）我随团（tourist group）旅行。吴佳仪女士是我们团的领队。

（5）领队应该接受任务，了解（get acquainted with）团队情况，熟悉案卷和接待计划。

2. Translate the following sentences into Chinese with the words or phrases given.

(1) When escorting the outbound tourists, a tour leader may sometimes meet some tourists who complain unreasonably because of their own bad manners. The tour leader should be neither humble or arrogant（不卑不亢）.

(2) The possession of a passport is essential for an outbound travel.

(3) “R”, the first letter stands for（代表）“ready” which shows that the tour leader is constantly ready to serve tourists.

(4) I've already applied for passports for my 15 distinguished guests（贵宾）.

(5) People think that I'm bilingual（双语的）. They think that I know about everything in the world. If I am going to take a group to foreign countries, I should have got to know all the facts and the figures.
