About the Author

Wang Jin，male，was born in October 1960 in Wuhan，Hubei Province．He is now a full professor at Peking University Law School，the Director of Peking University Resources，Energy and Environmental Law Institute，and the Director of Peking University Nuclear Policy and Law Research Center．Meanwhile，he serves as a Chinese member of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development，and a Vice chairman of Environmental Law Branch of Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences．

Professor Wang Jin received his PhD degree in environmental law from Peking University Law School in 1997．Prior to this，he earned Master of Law from Wuhan University Law School in 1991 and Bachelor of Medicine from Wuhan Medical College in 1983．During the PhD study in Peking University，he was sent as a visiting scholar to Uppsala University in Sweden in 1995 to research environmental legislation and as an exchange PhD candidate to Hosei University in Japan to study Japanese environmental law between 1996 and 1997．Besides，he once served as a teaching assistant and then as a lecturer at Wuhan University Law School from 1986 to 1994，and as Public health physician at Wuhan Qingshan Health and Epidemic Prevention Station from 1983 to 1986．

Professor Wang Jin's major research covers environmental law，and nuclear policy and law．He had his representative academic book A Study of the Objectives of Environmental Law published by Law Press in 2000，which was awarded in 2010 the Qian Duansheng Prize for Research in Law，the top academic award in China's law field．In addition，he is the writer or co-writer（co-translator）of more than 10 academic books or textbooks and over 100 academic papers published in famous Chinese and foreign legal and/or environmental science journals．

Since involved in revising Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China（for Trial Implementation）in 1986，he has taken part in drafting，demonstrating or revising China's all environment and resources protection laws，nuclear energy and nuclear safety laws and key environmental，natural resources and energy regulations and rules．In 2000，he won the first prize of the group of liberal arts in the Third Speech Contest of Basic Teaching Skills of Young Teachers in Universities in Beijing．
