016 Let's chew the fat.

chewthefat字面表示嚼肥肉。这句话是口语中的用语,表示闲谈。在没有口香糖的年代,乡下人闲来无事会嚼肥咸肉,这句话由此演变而来。也可以说:Let'schitchat.

A: How are you? I haven't seen you for a long time. Let's chew the fat.

B: Fine! I'd like to do that. But I'm busy today. How about tomorrow?
