"Learn and inquire to pursue benevolentmedical skill and never forget to care about the nation when practising medicine."This is the lifelike portrait of Hong Guangxiang's conduct and devotion to career.As one of the TCM experts treating lung system disease in China，he had made great achievements in his field.He as a firm fighter against the lung system disease spared no effort to cure patients and earned a wide praise.

In 1992，an article in the magazine Outlook Weekly (《瞭望》)entitled"Dedications of the Famous New-generation TCM Doctor:Hong Guangxiang，Expert of Lung System and Difficult Diseases"spoke highly about him.

He，with noble virtues and consummate skills，deserved the honorable title of"Great TCM Master".

In the 1960s，supported by the Party and government，traditional Chinesemedicine started its revival.With Jiangxi Further Education School of Traditional Chinese Medicine established in 1958，he as a TCM apprentice entered there and graduated with excellent academic performances.

In the 1970s，answering the call of national health care development，TCM departmentswere founded inmany hospitals，arrestingmore and more attention.And Hong Guangxiang accumulated lots of clinical experience with TCM's foreground.In the 1980s，with emphasis upon both Chinese and Western medicine，he persisted with repetitive testing of clinical experience to improve hismedical skill and the curative effects.From 1980s to 1990s，he reached the peak of his career.Hemade great achievements in such aspects as basic TCM theory，clinical practice，scientific research，new drug development，industry promotion and talent cultivation.Besides，he showed great scientific value of TCM and contributed greatly to the development of social economy by making full use of TCM advantages of holism aswell as syndrome differentiation and treatment.

As a TCM doctor，he did well in clinical practice and research.His theories such as"tripartite pathogenesis"，"treating qi firstwhen treating phlegm and stasis"and"treating lung disease with warm medicines"arrested nationwide attention and greatly promoted the development of TCM treatment of lung disease.Besides，he established the first TCM Institute of Respiratory Disease in China and his Chinese patent drugs treating lung system diseases enriched TCM treasures.

He also showed remarkable talents and vision in education，research and administration.He put forward the school running policy of"adhering to talent cultivation as the core and simultaneously promoting economic self-development"，created a new way for TCM education and school-run enterprise，providing better service to the national economic development.The policywith the characteristics of that time spread TCM influence and received great attention from leaders of the country.Jiangzhong Pharmaceutical Group，a beautiful flower in the process of reform and open policy，became amodel of nationwide school-run enterprises.
