The present book will be composed of the following chapters.
Chapter One is a brief introduction to our present research，including some background information of HK pre-and post-transition，the purposes and goals of this research，on which the basis for this present research is established.
Chapter Two reviews related literature of identity from which the working definition of the discursive construction of HK identity is produced，and theories in CDA which are essential to the analytical framework in the discursive construction of HK identity.
Chapter Three demonstrates the theoretical methodology in the present research based on Chapter One and Chapter Two.
Chapter Four analyses the macro-strategies in the discursive construction of HK identity in the present research data which concentrates on answering the question of what are chosen as topics in the PAs.
Chapter Five analyses the micro-strategies in the discursive construction of HK identity in the present research corpus which tries to answer how the linguistic strategies on different levels are applied in the construction of HK identity.
Chapter Six is a discussion and a comparison of the results of the macro-strategies and micro-strategies in the present corpus.
Chapter Seven tries to bring the present research to a conclusion with some major findings in this research that shed light on discursive identity construction in sociolinguistics and also a working framework for the analysis of identity construction in political discourse.
