We were(48) low on cash ourselves, but … well, sometimes(49) giving from our need instead of our abundance is(50) just what we need to do!
but 前面说 We were low on cash ,这里的 low 指的就是“(数量、水平或价值)少的”,所以, low on cash 的意思就是“缺钱,钱少”。 but 后面这句话主要的部分是 give from our need instead our abundance ,字面意思就是“从我们的需要里给,而不是从我们的富余里给”。
All the kids(51)declared something they could do away with for the week.
实际上 declare 的英文意思是 to state sth. firmly and clear ,中文意为“果断且明确地表示”。
