What do they look like?

Kian has black skin, brown eyes and black, curly hair. She is slim and wears glasses to read.

Remee has blonde, curly hair and blue eyes. Her skin is white and she has freckles. She does not need glasses.

They do not look like sisters at all, but they are. What is more surprising is that Kian and Remee are twins, born one minute apart.

Their mother and father both have a white mother and a black father.

Their mother Kylee says that when the twins were born, they looked more alike.“I thought they would look like each other more as they got older.” Instead, Kylee says the twins got more different. Kian's eyes changed from blue to brown and her skin got darker. Remee's skin got lighter with freckles and her curly hair stayed blonde.

When Kylee took the twins for walks, people asked whose babies they were. They asked who Kian's blonde haired friend was. People asked Kylee why the babies were dressed in the same clothes. Kylee said it was because they were twins. Most people did not believe her.

There is only a one in a million chance of twins having different coloured skin and hair. Kian and Remee are very special, but they never think about what they look like. The twins just think they are normal.
