It is Lynn's first day at her new school. Lynn is studying Mandarin and she goes to a special Chinese school.
To get to her Chinese school, Lynn has to take public transport all by herself. She has to get on the metro and travel to her stop. When she gets off the metro, she has to walk for five minutes to the school.
Lynn's Chinese class begins at 4 p.m. When she finishes her public school at 3:30 p.m. she walks to the metro. She wants to get on the train that will take her to the Chinese school, but the first one is full. Everyone is going home on the metro after school and work at this time. Lynn waits for another train, but that one is full too.
Lynn thinks that she will be late for class. She thinks that she should take the bus. She does not know what bus goes to her Chinese school. She cannot find the bus all by herself. Lynn asks the public transport worker. She says, “Excuse me. How do I get to Market Street?” The public transport worker tells Lynn to get on bus No.45. She tells Lynn to get off at First Street and walk to Market Street.
Lynn gets to her Chinese school and finds her classroom. She is not late, but the class is full and she has to sit at the very back. She thinks she will take the bus tomorrow, not the metro. That way she will get to her class in time to get a better seat.
