The children at the international school often talk about their home countries. They compare their home countries to the countries that their classmates come from.
Sasha: I come from the biggest country in the world. I think it must be the coldest too. The coldest part of Russia is in the north. It is called Siberia. There are a lot of wolves and bears in the north of Russia.
Cameron: I come from the second biggest country in the world. I think Canada is the coldest country because the north pole is nearest to my country. There are lots of mountains and forests in Canada. I think it is the prettiest country in the world.
Duyi: I think China is the prettiest country in the world. The Yellow Mountains in the east are very pretty and so are the Rainbow Mountains in the north. China has the biggest population. It has the most number of people in any country.
Libby: I come from the farthest away. Australia is the biggest island in the world and the hottest place of all our countries. It has one of the smallest populations. I live in Darwin, in the north. It is the hottest part of Australia and the nearest to Asia.
Harry: I come from the smallest country of any of our countries. Britain is not near your other countries. It is nearest to Europe. Even though it is the smallest country, many people visit Britain every year. So many people travel to Britain that we have the biggest airport in the world.
Cindy: In my country we like everything to be the biggest. We make big things. We have the biggest shoe, the biggest yoyo and the biggest clock in the world. The USA is farthest from China, but nearest to Canada. We are so near to Canada that we share the biggest lake in the world with Canada.
