This weekend my family cleaned the house. Every year in spring, we do a big clean. Everyone in the family helps with the spring clean.
My baby sister is the only one who didn't have to help. She is too young. Dad carried her to the kitchen so mom could watch her while she worked. My baby sister watched mom clean the dishes. When she got bored, she played with her toys.
Mom told me to clean my room. I don't like to clean. I listened to my music while I cleaned, so I didn't get bored. Mom wanted me to give away all my toy animals. She said I was too old to play with them. I saved my favourites – a deer and a whale. I also saved a bear and a monkey for my baby sister. I collected all the other toys and put them in a bag to give away.
Dad looked at the outside of the house and said it needed to be painted. He found some paint that he saved from last year. It was the right colour of blue. He carried the paint to the ladder. He climbed up the ladder with the paint and he painted the walls of the house. It looked like new when he finished
