Listen to a conversation between two students.
Jessie: Hey, Michelle! Have you heard the rumors flying around campus?
Michelle: Nope, I’ve been preparing for the presentation next month. What’s so interesting?
Jessie: You didn’t know? The school is banning all fast food on campus, like hamburgers and soda.
Michelle: Wow, I did not know that. Well, I bet not so many people like the smell of that.
Jessie: You got that right. Actually it’s been debated for the past week. I’m kinda surprised that you didn’t know. What do you think though?
Michelle: If you ask me, it sounds like great news for the students.
Jessie: Really? How so?
Michelle: Well, we all know that junk food isn’t the best for our health. I read on the Internet that food like this is highly responsible for tons of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and so on. I think this policy will create a healthier environment for students.
Jessie: Yeah, I guess you’re right.
Michelle: Besides, fast food can be a bit more expensive than eating at home, don’t you think? I don’t even understand why it’s so expensive anyway. It’s not healthy, and it doesn’t taste great. Imagine all the money that we could save on each meal. Speaking of which, I’ve always wanted to save up for a new computer by the end of this term.
Jessie: In that case, you’re one step closer to your goal, I guess.
