Listen to a conversation between two students.
Jay: Hey, Shirley! Are you okay? You look worried.
Shirley: Yeah, I’m just a little upset about a book that I need for my midterm. The thing is, I lost it the other day. What a mess, huh?
Jay: Oh, no! I’m sorry to hear that. What was it about? Maybe I can help.
Shirley: That’s really nice of you. Thanks! It’s a biology book. I’ve always been fascinated with plants. This time I wanted to write about carnivorous plants, you know, the ones that eat insects?
Jay: That’s pretty cool. Have you thought about buying another copy of the book from the bookstore?
Shirley: Actually, I was thinking about doing that. But since the book is a German edition, I can’t find it in any bookstores here.
Jay: Hmm… well, if you can’t find it locally, how about looking for a copy on the internet? Could you buy it online from a German store?
Shirley: That might work. The problem is, if they’re shipping it from Germany, it might take a long time to deliver. Plus, it’ll be really expensive.
Jay: Yeah, I hadn’t thought about that. Well, there’s another possibility. You could borrow it from the library.
