Some people think technology makes life more complex and less enjoyable,so we would be better living a simpler life without technology. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Over the past century or so,huge advancements in technology have fundamentally changed the way people live their lives. In traditional wisdom these changes have made life easier and more rewarding,but there are many 1 that mourn the passing of simpler times and suggest that a world without technology would be more enjoyable.

There is little doubt that technology has made our lives busier. It is now possible to chat with dozens of friends on social networks while keeping an eye on stock prices,while sending work emails， while 2 flying from one side of the world to the other. Many feel obliged to live in this way,and it isn't surprising they feel the strain.

Although people are much busier today,this does not necessarily mean they are less happy. Living the simple life away from any technology on an isolated farm may be relatively free of stress,but it is also totally lacking in stimulation. Technology today offers so many opportunities for entertainment and self-betterment 3 that simply didn't exist in the past. We can access thousands of hours of entertainment programming on demand,have millions of articles available to read online and have all our friends and family available for contact at any time. There is no obligation to do any of this,but the choice is there. On a wet Tuesday night this is surely a step forward from sitting in the dark and going to bed early,as one would do without technology. In the past almost every aspect of daily life was more time-consuming and more difficult in ways that are now hard to appreciate. It must be a struggle for those under twenty to imagine how a group of friends arranged to meet up before mobile phones.
