身为美国南加州大学（简称南加大）的校长，我祝大家的出国留学之路能一帆风顺。美国有众多优秀的大学，选择一所最适合你的学校至关重要。

As president of the University of Southern California, I wish you every success as you look to pursue your studies abroad. There are so many outstanding universities in the United States, and it is important to choose the one that is best for you.

USC is certainly a special place: our students are curious and creative, intellectually driven and socially active. We attract more international students than any other American university, and we welcome students from throughout the United States. This diversity enriches our students' educational experience, while preparing them to make their way in our globally interconnected world.

USC's students have ample opportunities to meet individuals from all over Asia-indeed all over the world, thereby laying a firm foundation for their future careers. You will find that your future professional success begins with the relationships you establish during your formative college years. Your peers in the classroom become your contacts in life.

At USC, these relationships develop right here on our campuses. The university stands at the very heart of Los Angeles, one of the world's creative capitals, and a bustling center of the Pacific Rim. Our students benefit from the city's wealth of world-class museums, performance venues, and cultural offerings, as well as its innumerable opportunities for socializing, employment, and volunteering.

And while USC is a major research university, it has the intimate feel of a small college. Our undergraduates have opportunities to do research alongside our faculty-an invaluable experience if they pursue graduate studies. Our students also embrace the many social opportunities on our campuses, and the exuberant spirit of our sporting events. Visions and Voices, our vibrant arts program, remains exceedingly popular, and brings our campuses to life in the evenings.

At USC, students form a very close community-and they become part of what we call the Trojan Family. The bonds they build are lifelong and worldwide, and our alumni network supports them throughout their professional careers-even decades after they graduate.

As president, as I travel around the globe, I am always delighted to meet alumni, and to shake hands with fellow Trojans. Invariably, the first thing they tell me is how much their years at USC have meant to them.
