子曰：“弟子，入则孝，出则弟，谨而信，泛爱众，而亲仁。行有余力，则以学文。”

孔子说：“后生小子，在家要孝顺父母，出外应当恭敬师长，言行谨慎守信，要博爱大众，亲近有仁德的人。躬行了这些要求，还有剩余的精力，那就拿来学习文献。”
Confucius said:”At home, a young man should be a good son; abroad, he should respect his elders. He should talk little, but with good faith. He should love the multitude at large, but associate with the virtuous. When all that is done, he still has energy to spare, let him study literature.”
