Saying hello and goodbye is an indispensable part of interpersonal communications. Warm-hearted greetings and polite valedictions make very good impressions on people and help promote friendship and mutual understanding.Greetings and bidding farewells in English are usually very brief and non-meddlesome.There are differences between the English and the Chinese ways of saying hello and goodbye.

Jack：Yeah, I agree with you, though I dont't like Tom Hanks in thatfilm.His perfor-mance seems unreal to me.
Lily：Do you?He sounds OK to me. Forrest is a simple-hearted lucky dog, isn't he?
Jack：Yes, too lucky to be true. Jenny must be more real.
