Passage 2
Last night, when we were sleeping, our boat landed on a beautiful island. We don’t know where we are now, but we know that we are in the Pacific Ocean. We got lost two days ago, and just landed on this beautiful island. Our food is running out, so we need to go out to explore the island. It looks very big and there are many colorful birds. Jon says that he wants to build a little house, so he is going to look for some trees and big leaves. Lisa thinks that she can catch some fish, so she is going down to the ocean. Maggie is going to look for fruit and I am going to find some fresh water.
“Dave!” yells Jon. “Come here! You have to see this!”
I run to him as fast as I can and he says, “Look up.” When I look up, I see that he is pointing to some coconuts at the top of a tree. “It’s a coconut tree!” I exclaim. “Now we can drink fresh coconut milk! But, who is going to climb the tree?” I ask.
昨天夜里，我们正睡觉时，我们的小船停靠在了一个美丽的岛屿旁。我们不知道自己现在在哪里，但是我们知道是在太平洋上。我们两天前迷路了，刚刚在这个美丽的岛屿靠岸。我们的食物快要吃光了，所以得去探索一下这座岛。这座岛看起来很大，有许多五颜六色的鸟儿。乔恩说他想建一座小屋，所以他要去找一些树木和大树叶。莉萨觉得她能抓鱼，所以向海边走去。玛吉想去找些水果，而我则想去找些淡水。
“戴夫！”乔恩大声喊道，“快过来！你看看这个！”
我以最快的速度朝他跑去。他说：“看上面！”我抬起头来，看见他正指着一棵树顶上的几个椰子。“这是棵椰子树！”我惊叫道。“现在我们有新鲜的椰汁喝了！不过，谁来爬树呢？”我问道。
