Once there was a boy named Danny.
One day Danny’s mother had a birthday.
Danny said to himself, “What shall I give my mother for her birthday?”
曾经有个男孩，名叫丹尼。丹尼的妈妈要过生日了。
“我给妈妈送什么生日礼物好呢？”丹尼自言自语地说。
So Danny started out to see what he could find. He walkedalong, and he met a Hen.
“Good morning, Mrs. Hen!” said Danny.
“Can you give me something for my mother’s birthday?”
于是丹尼出门，看看能找到什么样的礼物。他走着走着，碰到了一只母鸡。
“早上好，母鸡夫人！”丹尼说。
“你能送我点儿什么，当作我妈妈的生日礼物吗？”
“Cluck, cluck,” said the Hen, “I give you a nice fresh egg for your mother’s birthday.”
“Thank you,” said Danny, “but she has an egg.”
“Let’s see what we can find then,” said the Hen.
“咯－咯，咯－咯，”母鸡应答说，“我可以送给你一枚新鲜的鸡蛋，作为送给你妈妈的生日礼物。”
“谢谢，”丹尼说,“可她已经有了鸡蛋。”
“让我们一起看看，能不能找到其他东西吧！”母鸡说。
So Danny and the Hen
skipped along until they met
于是丹尼和母鸡
沿着路边走边跳，他们又见到了
A Goose.
“Good morning, Mrs. Goose.” said Danny.
“Can you give me something for my mother’s birthday?”
一只鹅。
“早上好，鹅太太。”丹尼说。
“你能送我点儿什么，当作我妈妈的生日礼物吗？”
