This is the picture of a gentleman. His name is White. We address him as Mr. White. Everybody addresses him so.
Mr. White wears a hat,a coat,a vest,a pair of trousers,and a pair of shoes. He takes a walking stick with him.
His coat has three buttons. The vest has six buttons. Can you see the buttons of his vest in the picture? Can you see his collar and his necktie? How many sleeves has his coat? How many pockets? Is there any pocket in his trousers?
What does Mr. White wear inside his shoes? What color are your socks? What color are your shoes?
What does a gentleman wear under his coat? What is the color of my shirt?

WHAT A LADY WEARS
Here is another picture. It is the picture of a lady.
She is Mr. White's wife. We address her as Mrs. White.
Mrs. White is Mr. Whits's wife,and Mr. White is Mrs. White's husband.
We address a husband as Mr. So-and-so,his wife as Mrs. So-and-so,their son as Master So-and-so,and their daughter as Miss So-and-so.
Mr. White and Mrs. White do not dress alike. Mr. White wears a coat,a vest,and a pair of trousers. Mrs. White wears a waist,a skirt,and some other things.
Mr. White wears a pair of socks. Mrs. White wears a pair of stockings. Socks are shorter than stockings.
Do boys and girls dress alike?
Gentlemen and ladies do not dress alike. They wear different kinds of clothing.
These are not all that men and women wear. They wear so many kinds of clothing that I cannot tell you all the names in this lesson.
