I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P.R.China. with tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am applying for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.
In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technologywidely considered one of the China's best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department.I was granted First Class Prize every semester. In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.
At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

consider作“考虑”解，常用于以下句型
1．consider+名词/代词/动名词。
You'd better consider my suggestion. 你最好考虑我的建议。
I'm considering going abroad someday.

2．consider+从句或“疑问词+不定式”。
Have you considered what he suggested?
你们考虑他的建议了吗？
We must consider what to do next.

consider作“认为”解时，常用于以下句型
1．consider sb./sth.+.(as)+形容词/名词。其中，as可以省略。
We consider him honest. 我们认为他很诚实。
At frst they considered me as a doctor. 起初他们认为我是医生。
2． consider+sb./sth.+不定式。其中，不定式通常是to be（可以省略）或to+动词的完成时。

though和although的用法
两词同义并可换用，但although语气较重，通常放在句首并用于正式场合。
例如： I'd quite like to go out, (al)though it is a bit late.
我很想外出，虽然为时稍晚。
Although it was snowing, it was not very cold.
虽然下着雪，但并不很冷。
用though时，可将强调的词前置，但although不能。as也有此种倒装结构。
例如： Poor though / as he is , he is happy.
虽然他穷，但过得很愉快。
Child though / as she was, the actress was drawing a crowd.
尽管还是个孩子，这个女演员却引起了人们的注目。
（child前无冠词a）
although 引导的从句常指事实，而though引导的句子可表假设。
例如： Let's start as arranged though it rains tomorrow. 即使明天下雨，咱们也按预定的计划出发吧。（假设）
He was not unhappy although he had to live alone.
虽然得一个人生活，他毫无不快之感。（事实）
although只用作连词，而though除作连词外，还可用作副词，常置句末，句子较长时，也置于句中。
例如： It's hard work, I enjoy it though.
这是苦差事，可我干得颇有乐趣。
There's no excuse, though , for hurting her feelings.
伤到她的感情一事，还是不可原谅。
though可用于even though, as though等结构，although则不能。
例如： Even though I fail, I'll keep on trying.
我纵然失败，仍会继续尝试下去。
You look as though (=as if ) you know each other.
看起来你们好像彼此认识。
although和 though用作连词时不能和but连用，但可跟yet, still 等连用。
例如： Although he lives alone, yet he is happy. = He lives alone, but he is happy. 他虽然单独生活，但很愉快。
though 常用于省略句。
例如： Though (he is) alone, he is happy.
虽然他独自一人，他非常快乐。
