团头鲂Megalobrama amblycephala Yih

形态特征： 体形侧扁，轮廓为菱形状。胸部平坦。腹棱不完全。头部比较短小。口较小，吻比较圆钝，故被定义为团头鲂。尾柄短，其长度等于或小于尾柄高。胸鳍比较短小。背鳍iii- 7；臀鳍iii- 26~29。侧线鳞50~60。体呈灰黑色，有一道道灰白色纵纹。

生态习性： 栖息在水草丛生水体的中下层，属偏草食性的杂食性鱼类。在人工饲养条件下可摄食配合饲料。2～3 龄性成熟，性成熟个体500g 左右，繁殖期5～6 月。

地理分布： 原产于长江中下游，是湖北梁子湖的特产。20 世纪80 年代引入宁夏，是宁夏池塘、湖泊主要养殖品种。

经济价值： 肉味鲜美，个体大小适中，适合消费者饮食习惯，经济价值较高。

MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Compressed body in diamond shape; flat thoracic region; incomplete abdomen scutes; small and shrot head; small mouth; because of its obtuse round mouth, it is called as Bluntnose black bream; short caudal peduncle which length is equal to or less than that of width; short pectoral fin; dorsal fin iii-7; anal fin iii-26~29; scales in lateral line 50~60; body is grey black with offwhite longitudinal stria-tions around.

ECOLOGICAL HABITS： It inhabits in middle and under stratum of water body with thick aquatic plants, which belongs to omnivore fish but with phytophagous tendency; the cul-tured fish may eat artificial mixed feed; it matures at the age of 2～3; the matured adult weighs around 500g; the breeding period is from May to June.

GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: It is originated from the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River, and it is a speciality product of Liangzi Lake in Hubei Province. It was introduced in Ningxia in 1980's, and it is the major culturing species in lakes and ponds in Ningxia.
