青鱼Mylopharyngodon piceus (Richardson)

形态特征： 体型长，略呈棒形，尾部稍侧扁，腹部圆。头顶部宽平，眼适中。口端位，呈弧形。吻短，无须，侧线完全。背鳍起点与腹鳍起点相对。背鳍iii- 7~8；臀鳍iii- 8~9。侧线鳞39~46。体呈青灰色，背面较深，腹部灰白色，各鳍均青黑色。

生态习性： 中下层肉食性鱼类，以软体动物蚌、蚬、螺蛳等为食，也摄食虾、螃蟹和昆虫幼虫。江湖洄游性鱼类，4~5 龄性成熟，产漂浮性卵。

地理分布： 原产于长江水系。20 世纪50 年代引入宁夏。

经济价值： 大型经济鱼类，有较高的经济价值。

MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Long body in bar shape slightly; caudal protion is slightly compressed; abdomen is round; broad and flat skullcap; well situated eyes; ter-minal mouth in arc shape; short mouth without beard; completed lateral line; zero point of dorsal fin is opposite to pelvic fin's; dorsal fin iii-7~8; anal fin iii-8~9; scales in later-al line 39~46; body is black and grey, the back's color is dark, abdomen is grey white, fins are in lividity.

ECOLOGICAL HABITS：It is a middle and lower stratum carnivorous fish, which lives on mol-lusk, such as clam, corb shell, snail, etc. as well as shrimp, crab and insect larvae. It is a migratory fish, and matures at the age of 4~5, which spawns floating eggs.

GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: It is originated from the water system of the Changjiang River, and was introduced in Ningxia in 1950's.
