在加拿大购物
到加拿大，逛商场、买衣服都是大家生活的重要部分。知道一些最简单的商场服务员与顾客的对话，能让你的购物过程愉快并富有成就感。
通常你一推开商店门，就会有店员很热情地上前和你打招呼：“How are you doing today?”这等于汉语的“你好，欢迎光临。”你要回答：“I am good. Thank you. How about you? / How are you?”“我很好。谢谢！你好！”店员会说：“I am very good / pretty good. Thank you!”“我很好。谢谢。”
接下来，店员会直奔主题，“What can I do for you today?”or“How can I help you today?”“有什么需要我帮你的吗？”如果你只是随便转转，没有目标买什么，那么就说：“Thank you. I am just looking around.”“谢谢。我就是随便看看。”
如果你有目标，比如你想买一件衬衫，那就说：“I am looking for a T-shirt for me. Can you tell me where those are?”“我想给自己买一件T恤衫，请告诉我它们放在哪里。”店员会非常热情地带你去找。“Right over here sir / ma'am. What size do you wear?”“先生／女士，就在这边。您穿几号？”
大家都熟悉衣服的号码尺寸标记是：L / M / S/ XL/ XS。L大号Large／M中号Medium／S小号Small／XL超大号Extra Large／XS超小号Extra Small。比如你穿M中号，服务员带你到了货架后会说：“These here are all mediums.”“这里全是中号。”记住要说“Thank you.”你选中衣服后，就说：“I will take this one.”我要这件了。接下来就是付款了。
在北美除了底裤不能试穿之外，其他衣服都可以试穿。试衣间叫“Fitting room.”问服务员我可以试穿吗？“Can I try it on?”试完衣服，不买的可以留在试衣间，或者拿出来给试衣间门口的服务员即可。拿着你要买的衣服，告诉服务员我要这个了／这些了。“I will take this one. / these.”
下面就是付款了。询问收款台在哪里：“Where is the checkout counter / Where is the cashier's counter?”通常收银员会主动告诉你他们店的退换货的政策。“You'll get a full refund within 7/30 days with your receipt.”“七／三十天内带着收据全额退款。”但是有的店只能换不能退。“We don't do refund. Exchanges will be offered for the same product or a product of equal value within 7/30 days with your receipt.”“我们不退货。七／三十天内带着收据可以换同款货物或者相同价值物品。”如果服务员没有主动告诉你他们的退换货政策。你要问：“What is your policy on returns?”
这些搞清楚，你就可以付款了。收银员：“That'll be $70, please. Will you be paying by cash or charge?”“一共70美元，您要付现金还是刷卡呢？”“Charge. Here's my VISA.”“刷卡，这是我的VISA卡。”结账完毕，服务员还回你的信用卡：“Okay, Sir / Ma'am, here you are. Thank you very much.”好了，先生／女士，请收回卡。非常谢谢您。”最后的告别语不是简单的“Bye Bye.”通常都是“Have a good/nice day / evening.”这句话直译为祝你一天／夜晚好心情。可以理解为“再见，走好。”你的回答是：“You too.”“你也一样。
