这是个前元音，发音要短促而有力。发音时下巴下移，舌尖抵下齿，舌前稍抬起。嘴巴半张，舌位比 低；发音时唇形稍微拉平，上下齿之间的距离可放入一个手指，不需拉长音。

这是个短元音，发音要短，声带要振动。舌尖抵下齿，舌前部稍抬高，舌位比 更低。嘴巴半张，比 要大，可以看到整个舌头的前部。发音时双唇平伸，成扁平形， 是四个前元音中开口最大的。
